1968 Shelby GT500 KR
Factory 428 Cobra Jet V8 with DSO Home Office Reserve ordering history
About This Vehicle
The Shelby GT500 KR — King of the Road — represents the absolute pinnacle of the first-generation Shelby Mustang program. Introduced mid-year in 1968, the KR replaced the standard GT500's 428 Police Interceptor with the new 428 Cobra Jet engine, conservatively rated at 335 horsepower.
This example is equipped with a four-speed manual transmission, power steering, front disc brakes, and factory air conditioning. The special DSO Home Office Reserve ordering history documents its factory origins and adds a layer of provenance that elevates it above even other GT500 KRs.
